Keeping Vacaville’s silver division hockey league the best it can be was on the mind of all scout players Sunday night in Northern California as the Scouts poured on the goals in an unrelenting and dare I say “textbook” fashion beating the visiting Bullets 16 to 2. Leading the way into battle, Scouts general manager Dave Bertram netted his first hat trick of December and his 3rd multi point game of the month. When asked how it felt to score 3, Bertram was quoted “Did I have that many?” In typical Bertram fashion he gave all the credit to his line mates Eric and Pete. “Those guys slowed the game down to my speed and just gave me a few golden opportunities to finish.”
Bertram played an outstanding game but the score would not have been so lopsided if it were not for a solid defense core lead by the play of Carl. With his tape to tape passes and his heroic back checks Carl was one of only two defensemen not to give up a minus on the night. When asked why he would skate so hard on a back check when the score is 12 to 2. Carl answered with only 3 words, “Textbook Scouts Hockey.” Sounds about right!
Game day final:
Scouts 16
Bullets 2
Beer guy: Carl
Next Game:
12/16/07
5pm
Scouts vs. Jets
Beer Guy
The Richie Brother
